A Y strainer is a very common filtration device. It is made of stainless steel and has a “Y” type structure. Y strainers are usually composed of a housing, a filter screen, an inlet, an outlet and a drain valve.

The working principle of Y strainers  is  that  the  liquid  or  gas  enters  the  filter  housing through  the  inlet,and then passes through the filter screen,where solid particles, impurities, and pollutants are intercepted, while the clean liquid or gas flows out through the outlet. If the impurities in the filter accumulate to a certain extent, cleaning and discharge can be done through the drain valve.
